Top 5 | Pokemon Cards

It's been a good few months since we started collecting Pokemon cards again properly and our quest to catch 'em all has been blessed with some pretty awesome cards. So today we thought we'd show off some of our collection by sharing each of our 5 favourite cards we've unpacked so far.

Larziee: I think it's pretty evident through my choices that I'm a Psychic Pokémon kinda gal, (although I am also a huge water-type lover). My current 5 favourite cards include four of 'em, as well as a Pikachu card that features one of my favourite art designs!
1. Jirachi Promo Card | How pretty is this Jirachi promo card?! Luke bought this set purely because he knew I'd like this card, plus is came with a cute lil pin that I want to put on my leather jacket. Jirachi is one of the cutest Pokémon imo - just look at that lil face - and I love the holographic detailing.

2. Gardevoir EX Card | I spotted this card online way before we unpacked it and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to have it! Gardevoir is one of my favourite Pokémon - I had one on Pokémon Pearl - and I think it looks so pretty on this card. The addition of Ralts and Kirlia makes it even more special and I love the general colour scheme of the card.

3. Litwick. | Ohemgee I love this card. It's easily the most beautiful in my collection and the purple shade of the card itself really compliments the art. I love the use of the light and shading in the little details, especially the purple roses and the muted blue tone of the Litwick's flame. Beautiful!
4. Jirachi. | Another Jirachi card but one that is equally as pretty as the other. Again, I love how the purple of the Psychic card goes with the artwork and the yellow on Jirachi joining together the outer edge of the card.

5. Pikachu. | Finally, my Pikachu card. Pikachu isn't actually one of my favourite Pokémon - soz - but I love the art on this card as it features both Chespin and Sylveon! I love the cartoon-y style of the art and the pretty pastel colours used.

Luke: They're not in any particular order, but these are my current Top 5 Pokémon cards!
1. Lugia EX | First we start with the Lugia EX card. This was from a pack that Larziee got me as a present last Christmas. I always wanted an EX card but didn't have very good luck getting one until I opened this pack. I did the 'card trick' by taking three from the back and pulling them to the front, went through them and out came my Lugia EX. I was so happy to finally get one and this has started my next lot of EX cards as I've since opened loads more. One amazing Christmas for me plus every other gift I got was amazing too!

2. Charizard EX | This is my favourite Pokémon ever - he is the coolest looking Pokémon and damn right awesome, I've always liked him but this card is from the 20th Anniversary set and it's the promo card. I really like the look of this card as it's also got Flareon in the bottom right corner and Magmar in the top right corner - which gives it the next level coolness. Charizard looks like he's using Flamethrower too which gives it the overall fire effect which is just out of this world, but maybe that's because I'm a huge Charizard fan.
3. Mega Gyrados EX | There is also so much you can say about the look of this card and it's not the normal one as well it's the Red Gyrados - the coolest looking one as it comes from a boring looking Magikarp. It is special in my eyes when you look at this card, everything about it is high class the way it jumps out at you with the colours: the gold outline, the blue background as it's a water type, and what looks like yellow lightening bolts just all go together so well. Plus the writing on the front in Japanese is a cool extra on the card.

4. Mega Amphoros EX | This is one of those Pokémon that not many people like but I do like the look of all electric-type Pokemon. The card is on a different level, same as the Gyrados card, all of the colours in the card are just so amazing: the yellow, purple and white just goes together so well it's perfect. One of the prettier cards I've got at the moment, I would say it looks like it wants to kill you though haha, but hey I would have it on my Pokémon team.
5. Trainer Wally | Not a card I would usually put in a 'Top 5' but when I got this card from a pack I realised it was a misprint. It's cut too short on the left side, on top and on the right of the card - if you're able to see, it's got part on an EX Pokémon card on it although I've not found out what EX card it was yet, but for this reason it's in my Top 5!

So there you have it - our current Top 5 Pokémon cards! We both have very different tastes in what we prefer in a card - Luke goes for more dramatic, exciting cards where-as Larziee likes prettier, more colour-co-ordinated cards. We hope you liked this little insight into our current collection & I'm sure we'll be back with another Pokémon card post soon!
